Parking Structure Gaming
Normally we were the type of friends who only hang out together when it's with other friends. But for a couple weeks that Summer, all the rest of our friends were out of town, so me and Eric hung out together almost every day. And we had some magical times.

One day we got to talking about this old video game we both played when we were younger called Golvellius. We decided to try to rent the game and spend the rest of the day playing it. We had to check a few different places but finally found it. But just as we were dusting off the old Sega system in Eric's basement and plugging it in, a Summer afternoon thunderstorm rolled into town and the electricity went out....
All we wanted to do that night was play that video game. Nothing else would satisfy us. After some frustration, I remembered that the parking structures downtown had plugs on each floor that might still work. So we gathered up our gaming setup, a little stand for the TV and a couple lawnchairs, and headed downtown.

Imagine our delight at finding that the plugs worked fine. And since it was still pretty dreary weather, there was no traffic there to disturb our project. After setting up on top and seeing more ominous clouds rolling in, we finally settled on the 5th level, last from the top, which afforded a nice view of town while still sheltering us from any rain.
We were comfortable in our little setup and didn't even notice as it got dark. The only car to pass the entire night was a big red truck.

We were a little scared until the window rolled down and one of the two college-age dudes said, "Holy shit, this is the coolest thing I've ever seen." The dudes parked the truck and asked us if they could join in. They lifted the bed cover of their truck to reveal cases and cases of cheap beer. Just the kind us high school kids were accustomed to - and still giddy about - drinking. Of course they could join in.
We stayed there late into the night, me and Eric and the college dudes, taking turns playing the game and fetching beers from the truck. And the electricity - from the parking structure plug and in the air that irretrievable teenage night - was free.
